A man received a two-year driving ban and a suspended prison sentence after causing the death of a grandmother in a traffic accident. The incident occurred on 14 October, 2023, near Billesley, Warwickshire, as Linda Boore, aged 75, and her husband were returning to Nottingham from a wedding reception. Police reported that Redi Muzhaki, 22, from Bridgeman Road, Coventry, “collided head-on with them” on the A46. Mrs. Boore subsequently passed away in the hospital, where her husband also received treatment for serious injuries. At a hearing held at Warwick Crown Court, Muzhaki was handed an 18-month sentence, suspended for two years, following his conviction for causing Mrs. Boore’s death through careless driving. Additionally, for the serious injuries sustained by her husband, Muzhaki received a 15-month sentence, suspended for two years and to run concurrently, during Friday’s proceedings. He was also given a 12-month suspended sentence, to run concurrently, for causing a death while operating a vehicle without a valid licence or insurance. The court mandated that he complete 200 hours of unpaid supervised work, adhere to a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement, and pay a victim surcharge of £187. Warwickshire Police reported that Muzhaki and two other occupants of the Vauxhall Astra he was driving also sustained serious injuries. In a statement released through the police, Mrs. Boore’s daughter, Nicola, described coping with the profound impact of her mother’s death as a “daily struggle.” She stated that on most days since the collision, “she felt pure sadness and an overwhelming sense of injustice.” Nicola further commented, “[My dad’s] physical injuries prevented him taking care of himself when he returned home and he was dealing with mental and emotional trauma too.” She added, “My dad had his wife of 54 years taken from him. I had a wonderful, kind mum taken from me and my children had an amazing, caring grandmother taken from them.” PC Drew Ballantyne remarked that instead of enjoying their retirement, the couple were struck “by an uninsured… careless driver, who had no consideration for their safety.” Post navigation Country Music Artist Morgan Wallen Sentenced to Probation After Nashville Chair-Throwing Incident Wife on Trial for Husband’s Murder Claims Memory Loss
