The family of a man missing for four days in Tenerife has confirmed he has been located. Kris Finney, 31, from Edenfield, Lancashire, was last observed on Thursday following his flight to the Spanish holiday island from Manchester Airport. The father of three children was discovered on Monday by a shopkeeper, who provided assistance after Mr. Finney’s phone malfunctioned, leaving him without funds. Debbie Kenyon, his aunt, conveyed to the BBC: “We are so relieved. We were sick with worry.” She further stated: “He told me his phone had broken and he had no money or way of getting in touch with us.” The electrician had reached the island on Thursday morning and sent a text message to his mother confirming his arrival; however, his family had been unable to establish contact with him thereafter. He had arrangements to meet friends, who were accommodated in different apartments. Mr. Finney had reserved accommodation at a hotel in ArmeƱime, located in the southern part of the island, but his last sighting was in the Playa de las Americas resort. Ms. Kenyon, residing in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester, reported: “I spoke to him and he sounded a bit worse for wear through tiredness.” She continued: “Apparently he had been wandering around as his phone had broken and he had all his money and details on it.” She further commented: “It is such a relief that he has been located. A woman shopkeeper found him and took him in.” “We’re so happy.” A representative from the Foreign Office had previously stated that it was “supporting the family of a British Man reported missing in Spain”.
