Man Jailed for Sexual Assault of Young Girl

An individual described as “dangerous,” who sexually assaulted a young girl, has been incarcerated. Marcel Evans, from Burland Avenue in Wolverhampton, was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault and one of indecency with a child at Shrewsbury Crown Court in July. West Mercia Police stated that the 53-year-old committed these offences between 1988 and 1993. He received an eight-year prison sentence at Stafford Crown Court on Friday and will serve one year on licence, the force additionally reported. Detective Constable Jules Musgrove commented: “I am pleased with today’s sentence as Evans is a dangerous individual who preyed on a young girl.” He further stated: “I must commend the bravery and courage of his victim for coming forward and reporting the abuse she was subjected to by him.”
