A man has been incarcerated after raping a woman on the same day he was released from prison. Tylor Munslow assaulted his victim in a car park at Bestwood Country Park at approximately 23:30 BST on 15 September 2023. Nottinghamshire Police reported that Munslow had earlier been released on licence from HMP Ranby, where he had been serving a sentence for assault. The 24-year-old, who has no fixed address, was sentenced to nine years in prison and issued a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday. The court heard that a member of the public had contacted 999 after observing an “obviously distressed” woman in a car with Munslow. Although the vehicle was driven away, police subsequently located it, and the victim informed officers that she had been beaten and raped. Testimony in court indicated that Munslow had been drinking and asserted that his victim had given consent. The case was initially scheduled for trial, but Munslow altered his pleas on 8 October, admitting to rape, assault by penetration, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Gemma Rimmer stated: “Munslow subjected [the victim] to a violent and extremely shocking ordeal before refusing to admit what he had done for over a year.” She added: “This meant the victim had to endure a lengthy and distressing legal process that verged upon a crown court trial. “His actions that night were utterly despicable and have unsurprisingly had a very significant impact on his victim.”” Post navigation Couple Imprisoned for £48,000 Jewellery and Cash Thefts Woman’s Body Discovered at Seaside Property
