An individual in his 70s was hit by his own vehicle after being ambushed by a robber who had been concealed in nearby bushes. The suspect forced the victim to the ground as he walked from his car to his residence on Stevenson Drive in Oldham at 17:25 GMT on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) reported that the man was subsequently struck by his car as the offender drove away, leaving him injured in the middle of the road. The victim received medical treatment in hospital for his injuries. GMP stated that the car was found abandoned minutes later, but no arrests have so far been made. Detective Inspector Andrew Day urged anyone who may have relevant information, CCTV or mobile phone footage to get in touch. “This is a frightening and disturbing incident where an elderly gentleman walking to his house from his car was subjected to a pre-meditated attack, with the suspect in some bushes waiting for him”, he said. “My team and I are determined to trace those responsible and are following up a number of lines of enquiry.”
