An individual who produced components for a firearm using a 3D printer has received a prison sentence. Jordan Brown, aged 25, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, admitted guilt to charges of manufacturing and possessing a firearm and ammunition. According to Lancashire Police, officers conducted a search of his residence in June, where they discovered a weapon and ammunition concealed within a t-shirt in his bedroom wardrobe. Brown received a sentence of five years and two months in prison at Preston Crown Court. During the search of his home on Devonshire Avenue, two 3D printers were located. Det Sgt Vicki Speak said: “We welcome the sentence imposed on Jordan Brown for manufacturing the firearm.” The weapon underwent testing and was determined to be viable. It was highlighted that despite being produced with parts from a 3D printer, the potential harm the weapon could inflict was catastrophic.
