An individual is scheduled to appear in court following the dissemination of a video depicting the aftermath of a deadly collision on social media platforms. The incident occurred on June 4, approximately at 17:40 BST, involving a collision between a car, a van, and a motorcycle on the A14 westbound carriageway in Sproughton, Suffolk. The motorcyclist involved in the accident succumbed to his injuries at the site and was subsequently identified as Kevin Doherty, aged 44, residing in Somersham, close to Ipswich. A 38-year-old man, an Ipswich resident, was apprehended subsequent to the video’s sharing and is slated to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on December 19, where he will face formal charges for two distinct offences. The charges against the man include transmitting an offensive/indecent/obscene message/matter via a public communication network and operating a mobile phone while driving. Mr. Doherty’s family had previously released a statement honoring him, characterizing him as a “loving” father, son, brother, and uncle. “His passing has left a void in our family and our hearts that can never be filled,” they stated. “He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.”
