An individual has appeared before a court in Leeds, facing charges related to the assault of police officers. Jason Mortimer, 36, who resides on Cliff Crescent in Kippax, was taken into custody on Sunday by officers who were “carrying out arrest enquiries” on his street. He was subsequently charged with wounding with intent to resist arrest, attempted wounding with intent to resist arrest, and breaching a restraining order, concerning an incident that took place on Saturday. Mr Mortimer attended Leeds Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to remain in custody until his appearance at Leeds Crown Court on 24 December. Furthermore, Mr Mortimer has been charged with two counts of resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.
