An individual has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a three-vehicle collision on New Year’s Day that resulted in the death of a teenager. The 18-year-old, a resident of Cornwall, was a passenger in a black Toyota Aygo that was involved in the collision on the A35, situated near Kingston Russell, Dorset. The accident, which occurred just after 13:30 GMT on 1 January, also included a silver Kia Sorento and a black BMW. Joshua Craven, of Bridport, has additionally been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention, having been over the specified limit for a controlled drug. Dorset Police stated that the 22-year-old was issued a postal requisition to attend Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on 13 November. In the aftermath of the collision, three other individuals were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
