A male individual, aged 30, has been formally accused of causing a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a two-year-old child. Sharjeel Shahzad’s arrest occurred on Monday, subsequent to a two-vehicle collision that took place in Smethwick, West Midlands, during Saturday evening. Additionally, he faces charges for two counts of causing serious bodily harm through dangerous driving, operating a vehicle while disqualified, driving without insurance, and not stopping after an accident. A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, who were occupants of the same vehicle as the deceased boy, continue to be hospitalized in serious condition. The incident occurred on Dartmouth Road. The child and the adults were traveling in a Toyota Auris when it collided with a Porsche Cayenne shortly before 23:00 GMT. Mr. Shahzad has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
