The family of a 78-year-old man, who succumbed to injuries after being struck by a vehicle, has paid tribute to him as a “true gentleman.” James Joseph Corrigan passed away in hospital after a collision with a green Peugeot 308 on Bentley Road, in Doncaster, on 18 October. In a statement, his family revealed that the great-grandfather had been a professional boxer before becoming a well-known contractor in the city. They said: “He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.” South Yorkshire Police has appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or possesses dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
