A quad bike rider has passed away several days after being involved in a crash with a car. Michael Armstrong, 58, from the Thrunton area of Northumberland, was riding a red Honda quad bike on the A697 near Whittingham on November 14 when it collided with a white Volkswagen. The 58-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries but succumbed to them on Monday. A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving. She has subsequently been released under investigation. Inspector Steve Clare from Northumbria Police appealed for information to “establish what happened in the moments leading to the collision”.
