A man in his twenties is currently hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a collision where his vehicle struck a tree, police officials have confirmed. Avon and Somerset Police reported that the car failed to stop for a marked police vehicle on the A370 near Flax Bourton, Bristol, at 02:00 GMT on Wednesday. The passenger of the black BMW 5 series involved in the incident was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure, with no other injuries being reported. The police force reopened the road, specifically the section between its junctions with Stancombe Lane and Barrow Street, at 14:00. The force also stated that the next of kin of those involved have been informed and are receiving support. Avon and Somerset Police indicated that a referral has been submitted to the Independent Office for Police Conduct regarding the event.
