A man has been convicted of the murder of another individual who was fatally stabbed at a house party. Lazarus Mokono, 26, sustained his deadly injuries during the gathering at a property located on Co-operative Street in Barnsley on 21 February. Emergency services, called to the house in the early hours of the morning, attempted to save Mr Mokono, known as ‘Laz’, but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Sipho Pfukani, 28, of Oldham House Lane, in Wombwell, had denied the murder of Mr Mokono but was found guilty by a jury after a two-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court. Another man, Terrance Mlotshwa, 28, of Ripley Avenue, in Derby, had previously entered a guilty plea to one count of assisting an offender and one count of fraud. Both men are scheduled to be sentenced on 8 November. Post navigation Inquiry Hears Ex-Spy Skripal Lacked Security, Was ‘Sitting Duck’ Individual identified as ‘best smuggler’ sentenced to 17 years
