Dean Mark Albert Mears, residing at Bodelwyddan Avenue in Kinmel Bay, Conwy county, has faced court proceedings after being charged with the murder of a 69-year-old woman. He is additionally accused of aggravated burglary. According to North Wales Police, the 33-year-old individual was apprehended following an incident on Thursday night where Catherine Flynn was transported to a hospital from an address on Cefndy Road in Rhyl, Denbighshire. Ms Flynn subsequently passed away. During a brief appearance at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, Mr Mears was observed in the dock, flanked by two security officers, dressed in a mustard yellow anorak and a grey T-shirt. District Judge Gwyn Jones informed Mr Mears that “the magistrates court had no powers to deal with a charge of murder.” Consequently, he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday.
