A man has been charged with murder following the death of a young mother in a crash that occurred in Derbyshire. Alana Armstrong, 25, was a passenger on an e-bike when it was involved in a collision with a 4×4 vehicle in Pleasley on the evening of November 26. Keaton Muldoon faces charges for the murder of Ms Armstrong and the attempted murder of the e-bike’s rider. Derbyshire Police stated that the 23-year-old, residing on Tuckers Lane in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, has been remanded in police custody and is scheduled to appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday. Ms Armstrong’s death occurred at the scene on Batley Lane. According to police, the rider, identified as a man in his 20s, was transported to the hospital where he underwent an amputation of one of his legs below the knee, following the impact of a dark-coloured vehicle with their bike on a country lane. The police force confirmed that the rider remained hospitalized after undergoing surgery. Law enforcement officials had previously indicated that Ms Armstrong was a pillion passenger on one of two bikes. Crimestoppers had offered a reward of £20,000 for crucial information pertaining to Ms Armstrong’s death. A woman in her thirties, from the Pleasley vicinity, was apprehended and subsequently released on bail, whereas a man and a woman who had been arrested earlier in relation to the incident were later discharged without any charges.
