Man Charged Following Fatal Dorset Road Incident

An individual has been accused of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving following a road incident in Dorset where a vehicle veered off the road, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old woman. Laionie Kennard, a resident of Verwood, passed away after a blue BMW 1 Series departed Hurn Road, situated between Ringwood and Matchams, around 21:30 BST on 16 September 2023. Dorset Police confirmed the arrest of the man, described as being in his 20s and from Wiltshire, in relation to this event. His identity has not been disclosed by the police force. He is scheduled to attend Poole Magistrates’ Court on 20 December. Following Ms Kennard’s passing, her family expressed their profound grief, stating they could not “explain in words just how much she is going to be missed.” They further added, “She was the most kind, caring daughter and sister we could ever have wished for.”
