An individual has been charged in connection with the discovery of nearly 300 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of £290,000, at a residence in Doncaster. South Yorkshire Police reported that officers, during a raid on the property in Lindholme on Tuesday, located a “substantial” cannabis cultivation operation distributed across four rooms. The 38-year-old man was charged with producing a controlled Class B drug and appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear next at Sheffield Crown Court on 27 November. Police stated that the electricity supply at the house had been bypassed, which presented a fire risk to nearby residents and required engineers to make it safe. A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the cannabis plants found at the property have since been destroyed.
