A 27-year-old man has been charged subsequent to the confiscation of cannabis worth £200,000 in Ballygawley, County Tyrone. The seizure took place after police were dispatched to an address on Dungannon Road shortly after 15:00 GMT and uncovered a facility producing the illicit substance. Law enforcement officers arrested a 27-year-old man during the operation on Tuesday afternoon. He was detained on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis. In a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, police verified that a 27-year-old man had been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, aiding and abetting possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and cultivating cannabis. He is scheduled to appear at Strabane Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. In an earlier communication, the Police Service of Northern Ireland described the factory as “sophisticated”.
