An individual has been charged in connection with an assault on two off-duty gardaí (Irish police officers) that occurred in Dublin. During the incident, which took place in the early hours of Saturday at the intersection of Dame Street and Eustace Street, one of the officers, a man in his 40s, sustained critical injuries. The second officer involved was transported to a hospital but has since been released. According to a statement released by the Garda, a man in his 30s, who was arrested in relation to the assault, has been formally charged and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. A second individual, also in his 30s, who was apprehended concerning the same incident, remains in custody.
