A 27-year-old individual has been taken into custody after another man died in an alleged hit-and-run while walking his dog. The victim, identified as Aaron Jones, 38, from Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, was struck by a vehicle near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel on Monday, between 18:45 GMT and 19:45. Dyfed-Powys Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has also been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision. Officers have confirmed they have located the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, following a search operation. They added that the road remains closed and residents should expect an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues. The force stated it is still appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to make contact. Councillor Bryan Davies, who represents the village on Carmarthenshire county council, conveyed that the community is in mourning and described the death as “tragic”.
