An individual has been taken into custody subsequent to a train colliding with buffers at London Bridge station. This occurrence, which took place on Friday afternoon, involved a Southern service originating from Victoria. A spokesperson for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) stated that the train “collided with the buffers at low speed” upon its arrival at the station. British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed that a man was apprehended on suspicion of endangering railway operations and has since been granted bail. BTP further noted in a statement that officers responded to the collision at 15:53 GMT, with no injuries reported. GTR indicated that the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) had been notified of the incident. The RAIB has been approached for comment. According to GTR, passengers disembarked from the train, and the platform subsequently resumed normal operation. An RAIB spokesperson commented: “The RAIB has been notified of an incident which occurred on Friday evening at London Bridge mainline station. “Evidence is being gathered as part of the process of conducting a preliminary examination and a decision on whether an investigation will be launched will be taken in the coming days.”
