An individual has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder after an eight-year-old girl and her father sustained serious injuries in a shooting incident in west London. The two victims were transported to a hospital after being shot inside a vehicle on Southern Row, located in Ladbroke Grove, on Sunday at approximately 17:30 GMT. The Met Police reported that a 32-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of two people and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody, the force confirmed. The two individuals who were shot are still hospitalized and receiving medical attention. Police indicated that the 34-year-old man suffered injuries that are potentially life-changing, while the girl’s injuries were not deemed life-threatening. Her two-year-old sibling and their mother, 32, were also present in the car at the time of the shooting but were unharmed, the Met added. A 22-year-old man was arrested on Monday, also on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on bail until a date in early February, pending further inquiries. The Met stated that there would be an increased police presence around the Southern Row area over the coming days, and its investigation is still ongoing.
