An individual has been arrested in connection with a burglary at the residence of England cricket captain Ben Stokes. Mr. Stokes, who was in Pakistan for the recent Test series, reported that his wife and two children were present at their property in Castle Eden, County Durham, when a masked group forced entry on 17 October. Durham Police announced that a 32-year-old man from North Yorkshire was taken into custody overnight on suspicion of burglary. The force added that he has since been released on bail while the investigation proceeds. Stokes, aged 33, stated that his family did not suffer “any physical harm,” but several “sentimental” items were stolen. These included the medal for his OBE, which he received in 2020 for his role in England’s World Cup victory the preceding year. He subsequently shared images of the missing items on social media, which also featured three necklaces, a ring, and a designer bag. The all-rounder, who also plays for Durham, clarified that his “sole motivation” for sharing the images was “not the recovery of material items,” but rather “to catch the people who did this.” A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary stated: “Officers continue to appeal for information and anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 543 of 17 October.” Post navigation Supplier Suggests Stolen Cheese May Be Sold Overseas Vietnamese Tycoon’s Death Sentence Upheld in Major Bank Fraud Case
