An 86-year-old pedestrian sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car. The incident led to the arrest of the driver. The collision occurred on Saturday around 17:45 GMT, outside Blanco’s Restaurant on Green Park Street in Sandfields, Port Talbot. South Wales Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man, operating a blue Skoda Fabia, was apprehended. He faces suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, driving without a licence, and driving without due care and attention, and is currently held in custody. Authorities are requesting that any witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage come forward to assist with their ongoing investigation.
