An incident on the M65 motorway has resulted in the death of a horse and injuries to four individuals. Authorities were alerted to a report of two horses loose on a carriageway at Junction 9 near Hapton around 02:34 GMT. One of the horses was struck by two vehicles, which was then followed by a separate collision involving three vehicles. Lancashire Police confirmed that four people sustained minor injuries, and the second horse was safely removed from the carriageway. The eastbound carriageway, located between Junction 8 and Junction 10, was closed but has since been reopened.
