The M6 northbound carriageway has been closed following a pick-up truck fire and a large diesel spill. National Highways reported that the closure of the carriageway began around 08:30 GMT, affecting the stretch between junction 14, near Stafford, and junction 15, which serves Stoke-on-Trent. The West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that the fire was extinguished by 08:35, with no injuries reported. Motorists were advised that the incident was causing delays of up to two hours. Subsequently, one lane of the four-lane motorway section has reopened, and National Highways indicated that efforts to clean up the spillage are ongoing.
