A section of the M5 in Devon experienced a partial closure due to a lorry fire, as confirmed by National Highways. The incident led to the closure of two out of four southbound lanes between junction 30 (Exeter) and junction 31 (Ide). These lanes were subsequently reopened around 18:10 GMT. The vehicle involved was transporting hay bales, which ignited. Lanes one and two were specifically shut down to facilitate the deployment of specialist equipment required for the removal of the burnt hay from the scene.
