Police have reported that a pedestrian, aged in his 50s, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the M2’s eastbound carriageway in Kent. This event occurred shortly after 8:00 PM GMT on Wednesday, specifically between junction five, close to Stockbury, and junction six, which serves Faversham. Kent Police issued an appeal for witnesses and any available dashcam footage. The route is projected to stay shut until Thursday evening, and drivers are being advised to consult the National Highways website for current travel information. A spokesperson for the police stated: “Patrols and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and a man in his 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.” An inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced. Furthermore, investigators are seeking to communicate with motorists who might have passed through the location directly following the collision, prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. National Highways confirmed: “Closures will remain in place until into the evening [on Thursday] as police continue their investigations.”
