Emergency responders were dispatched to the M11 southbound, specifically between junction 7A and junction seven, both situated close to Harlow, at 07:11 GMT. An update from National Highways on X indicated that a van and a car were implicated in the incident, which resulted in fuel spilling onto the road surface and catching fire. While one lane was subsequently reopened, lanes two and three stayed shut because of damage sustained by the road surface. According to Essex County Fire & Rescue Service, three vehicles were involved, with two of them having caught fire. The service stated that fire crews were engaged in securing the area. A spokesperson for National Highways advised motorists to anticipate delays lasting 90 minutes and approximately seven miles (11km) of traffic congestion leading up to the site.
