Two prominent real estate brokers and their brother have been indicted on sex trafficking charges, stemming from a case that alleges the drugging, assaulting, and raping of dozens of women over more than a decade. Prosecutors assert that Tal and Oren Alexander, recognized for their sales of high-end properties in New York and Miami, along with their brother Alon, utilized their wealth to exploit women. The brothers were apprehended in Florida on Wednesday and are slated for transfer to New York to address the charges. A legal representative for Oren Alexander refuted the accusations. Alon Alexander’s lawyer stated her client intends to enter a plea of not guilty. Joel Denaro, representing Tal Alexander, declined to comment. “As of today, law enforcement has interviewed dozens of women who reported being forcibly raped or sexually assaulted by at least one of the Alexander brothers,” stated Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, during a press conference in Manhattan. He added, “This conduct, as alleged, was heinous.” On Friday, two of the brothers were granted bond after their father offered his mansion as collateral. The county bond agreement permits Alon and Oren Alexander to be held under home confinement pending trial. However, according to Miami media outlets, they will remain in jail on federal charges for the time being. Prosecutors contend that the alleged crimes were perpetrated over a period exceeding ten years. The indictment outlines a scheme involving invitations to parties and the promise of luxury experiences and travel to entice women to locations in the US and abroad where the alleged assaults took place. It further states that they procured drugs and supplied them to the women, at times “surreptitiously” adding them to drinks. Additionally, prosecutors allege that in some instances, the brothers “physically restrained and held down their victims during the rapes and sexual assaults and ignored screams and explicit requests to stop.” Immediately following the assaults, the brothers reportedly provided some of the victims with concert tickets and other luxury items. All three brothers are charged with one count each of engaging in a sex trafficking conspiracy, and a second count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion. Tal Alexander faces an additional count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion. “Oren Alexander is innocent,” asserted his lawyer, Susan Necheles. She added, “The evidence will show that neither he nor his brothers ever committed a crime.” Meanwhile, David Gottlieb, an attorney representing the women, expressed approval of the indictment. In a statement posted by his law firm Wigdor LLP on X, Gottlieb said, “We are glad to hear that there will finally be some measure of accountability for the Alexander brothers and justice for their many victims.” He further commented, “We applaud all the survivors who have had the strength and courage to speak up about their unimaginable experiences after years of pain and suffering.” Tal and Oren Alexander previously worked for the real estate giant Douglas Elliman, where they listed properties for celebrities including Liam Gallagher, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. In 2022, they co-founded a firm named Official.
