Police have confirmed that a lost pendant, containing the ashes of a woman’s late husband, has been successfully returned to its owner. The Epsom and Ewell Beat division reported that the woman retrieved the item on Monday. In a statement shared on social media, police noted: “Today she collected her dear John and was able to quote word for word the inscription on the back of the pendant.” This red glass piece of jewellery was discovered on Epsom High Street on 11 December before being turned over to the police. Prior to its return, Epsom and Ewell Beat had utilized social media to encourage the public to share an image of the missing item. Their earlier post stated: “We are hoping to reunite this sentimental piece of jewellery with the rightful owner this side of Christmas.” For further updates, individuals can follow BBC Surrey on Facebook and X.
