A lorry that struck a bridge and subsequently failed to stop then ruptured, depositing one tonne of cockles onto a roundabout. Cambridgeshire Police stated that the vehicle collided with a low bridge at Queen Adelaide, near Ely, during the previous week. “The lorry driver continued driving with the damaged trailer which then split and left a tonne of cockles on the roundabout at A142 Stuntney Causeway,” officers communicated on Facebook. They added: “We apologise for any disruption caused, it was essen-shell the cockles were moved out [of] the road,” and noted that the driver was “reported for driving without due care”.
