A house and garden in Bardney, Lincolnshire, have been transformed by nearly three miles of Christmas lights, installed to benefit a charity. Andy, who opted not to provide his surname, has decorated his residence with approximately 25,000 LED lights, alongside inflatable snowmen and Father Christmases. The funds collected from this festive display are earmarked for St Barnabas Hospice, an organization Andy described as “absolutely incredible.” This initiative marks the fifth consecutive year the family has engaged in fundraising for the charity, which specializes in providing palliative and end-of-life care. Andy stated that the setup of the display took about a week, a process completed with the assistance of his wife, their next-door neighbour who is a roofer, and the broader community. The Christmas light display, which aims to raise £5,000, had already gathered around £470 by Friday, its fourth day of operation, and is scheduled to remain active until the new year. The Lincoln-based charity holds a personal connection for the fundraisers, who explained: “We lost our auntie this year and without the support of St Barnabas we don’t know what it would have been like.” They further elaborated, “Their continuing help from when she was diagnosed to when she sadly passed away, they were absolutely incredible.” Andy concluded by saying, “It truly takes somebody special to be able to do what they do.”
