A drug enforcement operation in Lincolnshire resulted in the apprehension of eighteen individuals. According to Lincolnshire Police, these individuals collectively faced over 60 charges stemming from a week-long initiative that also led to the disruption of twelve county lines. Approximately £10,000 in currency and illicit drugs valued at £33,000 were confiscated. Additionally, various weapons, specifically an air rifle and knives, were seized. This nationwide initiative, conducted from 25 November to 1 December, included participation from the Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police. The term “county lines” refers to the practice of transporting illegal narcotics from urban centers to smaller towns and rural regions. Detective Superintendent Amy Whiffen, representing Lincolnshire Police, stated: “It’s vitally important our response to this criminality is joined up across the whole system – the work carried out highlights the need to work collectively to share information, collaborate and respond effectively to protect communities and bring offenders to justice.”
