An initiative to “rough up the roads” has commenced in Lincolnshire this month, forming part of a broader effort to enhance braking and skid resistance. Approximately seven miles (about 11km) of roadways within the county are slated for “carriageway retexturing work” between the present time and January. Lincolnshire County Council stated that, in the majority of instances, the operations could be conducted utilizing traffic lights and a moving convoy system to ensure the road remains open. Richard Davies, the authority’s executive member for highways, commented: “Retexturing is a very sustainable and cost-effective way to restore skid resistance and texture to improve tyre grip.” He elaborated: “We can do this work by either hydro blasting or shot blasting, and can carry out this work on roads where the surface is in generally good condition but needs roughing up to get better performance.” The scheduled work is planned for these specific roads: • Blenheim Way/Northfield Road, Market Deeping • B1188, between Scopwick & Digby • A153, Leasingham Moor • A1031, Ludney • A15, Cranwell • A157, Main Road, Biscathorpe • Boston Road, Swineshead • A158, Burgh Le Marsh • Keddington Road, Louth • A15, Waddington Heath Davies further added: “Because of the type of work, some disruption will be unavoidable to maintain the safety of road users and our crews, and I want to thank anyone affected by this improvement programme for their patience and understanding.” Post navigation Youth Employment Challenges and Government Initiatives Irish General Election Scheduled for November 29
