The official aid agency for Jersey, Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA), has named its inaugural patron. Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd, who concurrently serves as Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey, will assume this position. Since his relocation to Jersey in 2022, Vice Admiral Kyd has collaborated with JOA and expressed commendation for its methodology in international development and humanitarian assistance. Regarding his assumption of the role, he stated he was “delighted and excited” to get going. Vice Admiral Kyd’s career included 37 years of service as an officer in the Navy, and in his capacity as patron, he will contribute to enhancing JOA’s public visibility and advocating for its initiatives.
