The owners of a restaurant situated atop a prominent shopping centre in Leeds city centre have announced its closure later this month. D&D London stated that Angelica and Crafthouse, which commenced operations at Trinity Leeds in 2013, is scheduled to cease trading on 15 December, citing “economic challenges.” D&D London, which operates restaurants in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Paris, and New York, previously closed two other establishments at Leeds Victoria Gate during the past year. A Trinity Leeds spokesperson commented that the restaurant’s influence on the city’s culinary landscape “would continue for some time to come.” David Loewi, CEO of the D&D London restaurant and hotel group, indicated that the choice to close the restaurant was made “after thorough deliberation.” He added that this followed “a comprehensive review of business operations.” He further stated: “This decision follows and reflects the ongoing economic challenges facing the hospitality industry, with the long-term success and sustainability of D&D London in mind.” At the time of its opening in Leeds, Angelica and Crafthouse represented the firm’s inaugural establishment outside the capital. A spokesperson for Trinity Leeds remarked: “We’re sad to see Angelica and Crafthouse go after so many years at Trinity Leeds.” They also mentioned that other businesses have already shown interest in occupying the premises.
