The Leatherhead Business Improvement District (BID) Steering Group, which was established to foster increased investment in a Surrey town, will host a series of drop-in sessions on Wednesday. The group has extended invitations to companies and businesses to attend three separate sessions at the Leatherhead Theatre. Business Improvement District (BID) schemes are designed to promote closer collaboration among businesses and provide them with access to funding opportunities. The funding for this particular group has been provided by Mole Valley District Council. Should the feedback received be predominantly positive, the group intends to proceed with defining the precise boundaries of the BID zone, formulating a comprehensive business plan, and organizing a formal ballot on the proposal. Paula Keay, Mole Valley’s cabinet member for sustainable economy, commented: “BIDs can be really effective in ensuring that businesses are represented and have a stronger collective voice on some of the issues that affect their trading area.” The scheduled times for these sessions are from 08:00 to 09:30, 12:00 to 14:00, and 17:00 to 19:00 GMT.
