Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has stated that he has already acquired considerable knowledge about his new team during his brief period in charge. This follows Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat by West Brom, which marked Lampard’s initial loss at the helm. The 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night represented the Sky Blues’ first defeat since the former England international’s appointment at the conclusion of the previous month. Prior to this result, Lampard had overseen a draw with Cardiff City and secured a victory at Millwall. “We’ve learned a lot in a really short time and it’s normal that a night like this (against West Brom) can come along especially in this Championship,” Lampard told BBC CWR. He added, “I like the players, they want to do better, they want to do well for this club.” Coventry currently maintains a four-point lead over the Championship’s relegation zone and is scheduled to compete in three matches against struggling teams—Hull City, Portsmouth, and Plymouth Argyle—within the next two weeks. “The finer details and the clinical nature at both ends of the pitch are important for us but the only way I know is to keep working towards that,” Lampard said.
