Quarterback Lamar Jackson spearheaded the Baltimore Ravens to a 30-23 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the latest installment of the ‘Harbaugh Bowl’. Jackson initiated the Ravens’ scoring with a rushing touchdown, subsequently contributing two additional touchdowns via passes. This contest marked the third occasion that brothers John Harbaugh, coach of the Ravens, and Jim Harbaugh, coach of the Chargers, have faced each other in the NFL, with John Harbaugh maintaining an undefeated record in these encounters. John Harbaugh commented on the victory, stating, “This is a big win. Proud for our guys.” He added regarding his brother Jim, “I just told him [Jim] you are a great coach and you have a great team and I love you.” Their prior two NFL matchups saw John’s Ravens defeat Jim’s San Francisco 49ers in a 2011 regular-season game, followed by another victory in the 2013 Super Bowl. Regarding the win, Jackson remarked, “It’s pretty cool I’m part of history.” He further added, “We finished off the game the correct way. We started off slow – we’ve got to fix that and I believe we’ll be where we want to be.” Jackson, recognized as the 2023 NFL Most Valuable Player, accumulated 177 passing yards, while running back Derrick Henry contributed 140 rushing yards, both instrumental in Baltimore’s offensive efforts. Jackson commented, “We just got in sync, hit the ground running, made the plays, went with what we know.” He also praised Henry, stating, “Henry gets one carry and went for what he knows. That man, he can’t be stopped.” This season, the Ravens have achieved eight victories in 12 games, placing them second in the AFC North. Conversely, the Chargers hold the second position in the AFC West with a record of seven wins and four defeats.
