La Houguette Primary School, situated on Guernsey’s west coast, is scheduled to be closed on Monday due to damage sustained during Storm Darragh. The States of Guernsey reported that the upper roof of the school incurred “significant” damage, resulting in leaks in several rooms and debris scattered across both the roof and the site. The States commented: “Because of this, the decision has been made to close tomorrow so contractors can attend, make the site safe, and begin repairs.” The school was in the process of contacting parents, and while it was hoped that the closure would be limited to one day, a further announcement is anticipated on Monday afternoon.
