The Christmas lights switch-on in King’s Lynn has been called off because of Storm Bert. The event was set to occur on Sunday in Tuesday Market Place, with the main illumination scheduled for 17:00 GMT. King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Council Borough Council stated that the decision was made “due to the current yellow weather warning and strong windy conditions.” Furthermore, activities planned for The Place, which were organized by Discover King’s Lynn & Vancouver Quarter, have also been cancelled, the council added.
