Police have confirmed the implementation of a dispersal order in Kimberley, a Nottinghamshire town, following reports of antisocial behaviour, criminal damage, and violence. The measure, enacted in Kimberley, is effective from 16:00 GMT on Thursday and will conclude at midnight. The police force stated that the eight-hour order encompasses Main Street, Newdigate Street, Noel Street, Broomhill Road, Greens Lane, Regent Street, James Street, Chapter Drive, and High Street. Under this order, officers are authorized to direct individuals to leave the designated areas and to apprehend those who do not comply. Sgt Simon Boyles commented: “Over the last two weeks we have received reported incidents of antisocial behaviour, criminal damage, and violence in the Main Street area, as well as disorder taking place around the car park area at the rear of Sainsbury’s and the council car park area in Greens Lane.” He further stated: “This order is a preventative tool giving us additional powers to prevent, deter, and reduce any disorder and to move people on if they are causing any issues in these areas.” Sgt Boyles also indicated that the force would approve additional dispersal orders if deemed essential.
