Grimsby Town midfielder Kieran Green has committed to a new two-year contract, securing his place at the League Two club until 2027. The 27-year-old has made 12 appearances and scored two goals for the Mariners so far this season. Green initially arrived at Grimsby from Halifax Town in July 2022. Since his arrival, he has played in 86 matches and found the net five times. Green shared his thoughts on the new deal with the club’s website, stating: “I’ve had a few lengthy conversations with the gaffer and he’s seen something in me and has wanted me to play higher up, more as a number eight and it’s a role I’m trying to embrace and I’m really enjoying it.” Grimsby head coach David Artell also commented on the contract extension: “His performances this season warrant a new deal. I think anyone who has seen his progression in the last 12 months will testify that he always wants to improve, and he’s already got a couple of goals and assists which is a good return at this stage in the season.”
