Police have confirmed that a school was evacuated after receiving a report concerning a child who had reportedly brought a potentially explosive device onto the premises. Personnel from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were dispatched to Orchard Junior School in Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire, approximately at 13:30 GMT on Friday. The constabulary indicated that the child had introduced “what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance”. It was stated that the school underwent a “calmly evacuated” process, and a specialized disposal team subsequently removed the object for precautionary destruction. The BBC has reached out to the school for a statement.
