John’s All-Star Full-Back Selections

The selection for full-backs is presented, featuring John’s choices. His full-back selections include Johnny McGrath from Galway, and Aaron McKay and Barry McCambridge, both representing Armagh. McCambridge, who was not in Armagh’s starting lineup for their Ulster Final penalty shootout loss to Donegal in May, successfully contained prominent Kerry forward David Clifford and Galway forward Shane Walsh during the All-Ireland semi-final and final matches. Beyond his close marking of Clifford, McCambridge also contributed a pivotal goal in the semi-final, thereby securing his position in the team. It would be unexpected if McCambridge is not accompanied by his teammate Aaron McKay, who, in addition to an exceptional defensive season, advanced upfield to score a vital goal in the All-Ireland final. Also expected is Galway’s prominent corner-back, Johnny McGrath, a nominee for the young player of the year award.
