The home of Newcastle United player Joelinton has been subjected to a break-in for the second occasion within the current year. Northumbria Police reported receiving notification of a burglary at an address in Darras Hall, Northumberland, at 19:35 GMT on Thursday. However, the police force did not confirm the identity of the homeowner. In a post on social media, the 28-year-old footballer stated that his property had been targeted again and requested that it “be respected as a safe space” for his family. The initial break-in occurred in January, at a time when Newcastle was competing against Manchester City at St James’ Park. A spokesperson for the force confirmed that officers attended the scene, but the perpetrators had already departed the vicinity. They added that investigations are ongoing. The midfielder conveyed on Instagram: “To anyone considering doing this: please know that there is nothing valuable left here.” He further added: “What we care about most is our family’s safety and our kids growing up without fear.” “We hope for a community where our children, and everyone’s children, feel safe,” he continued. He concluded his message by stating: “We simply want to live in peace.” Joelinton’s teammate, Alexander Isak, also experienced a home targeting incident in April. Northumbria Police is urging anyone with information to make contact with the force.
