Jersey’s minister for infrastructure stated that the island sustained “quite lightly” damage during Storm Darragh. The storm generated winds of up to 76mph (122km/h), recorded at St Catherine, which resulted in 23 trees falling. St John Constable Andy Jehan stated: “Thankfully, we got away quite lightly from what we expected, and I know that’s of little consolation to those affected.” He also extended his appreciation to the island’s workers and volunteers who assisted in removing debris left by the storm. The roof of Les Quennevais Sports Centre, which sustained damage from the high winds, was also being assessed by experts, officials confirmed.
