Jersey’s women’s team has clinched the Challenger Division title at the European Cricket Championship, triumphing over Germany by a margin of 15 runs in the championship match. Aimee Aikenhead contributed a total of 85 runs across six matches for Jersey. After finishing at the top of their group, having emerged victorious in all five of their pool games held in Spain, Jersey once more demonstrated their dominance as the premier team in the rain-affected 10 overs a-side tournament. Aimee Aikenhead was instrumental in Jersey’s innings, scoring 33 runs from 18 balls, including six fours. She was the sole batter from the island team to reach double figures, as Jersey posted a total of 70-6 from their allotted 10 overs. In response, Jersey successfully limited the German team to 55-7. Analise Merritt claimed 2-12, while Karthika Vijayaraghavan was Germany’s highest scorer with 10 runs.
